May 2008
How time flies. The last time I wrote anything here it was Christmas. In five months there have been alot of changes and surprises.
Our biggest surprise happened in the last two weeks. We thought we were done with lambing for the season. We had 10 really nice lambs born from the 6 ewes we AI-ed in October. And un-heard of ratio of 2 to 1 ewe lambs over ram lambs.
Just 10 days ago Alan (DH) found a ewe out in the pasture with two brand new ram lambs. We didn't even know she was pregnant. The next day we realised that there were 4 other ewes bagging up and ready to deliver. SURPRISE!
Life throws surprises at us all the time. Sometimes they are surprises we enjoy like a group of friends gathered to celebrate your birthday or the birth of 8 new lambs. Sometimes it's a surprise we know we could have lived life without. Car problems, an accident, a broken leg, a death in the family.
It's easy to take the good surprises. It is not at all easy to take the bad ones. This is the time when you really need to get a hold of your Bible and spend sometime in prayer. Perhaps you do this on a daily basis, but still that "left hand hook" has really got you down and you need an extra helping of reassurance that God is handling it all. He said he would be there during the good and the bad. Take him up on his work.
