Masham sheep wool has an unusually long staple. Some times as long as 17 inches. After importing the wool fleeces I sent some of them to a mill to have the wool processed into roving. This roving is very well carded and will spin easily. Soft handle (feel), creamy white coloring. It also takes dye very easily.
If you have never tried Masham wool, I think you will enjoy working with it. When I first started spinning I tried all different breeds of wool and many other types of fiber. This taught me what fibers I truly liked to spin and work with. It gave me experience and knowledge of all different types of wool. The same will broaden your knowledge and love for your craft in spinning.
